Oh.

Oh. Snap.

Am I still apprehensive? Of course.

Am I excited? Hell yes.

I don't know how he could possibly pull if off, but now I'm actually hoping he does.

Is that what I think it is?

And does that make me one of the three?

I think it is what you think it is, if what you're thinking is what I think you're thinking.

I'd certainly hope it would! You of all people!

Just verifying that I have my very own tag.

The header's a total give away dude.

Sidenote: Are there any locations on http://whysoserious.com/ that are in your hood? I'm trying to ask some of the Denverites I know to go scavenger hunting with me.

There are plenty who still wouldn't get it, I'm positive.

Totally, one is in the DC Scultpture garden! I know the exact locale and everything. Trying to solve the puzzle?

From: [identity profile] jellied.livejournal.com
Just got alerted to the puzzle actually. I've been trying to avoid the 'net as it REALLY DISTRACTING me from hw. Who knew?!

You solved it already?

Date: 2007-11-27 05:39 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] thehefner.livejournal.com
Actually, it solved itself for me! Seems enough people beat me to it that they basically made the answer click-able! The puzzle came out on Halloween, mind you. There was a countdown of a rotting Two-Face pumpkin the week before, and I was hoping it'd lead to a reveal of Harvey's scarring, but no luck.

That's it?!

There's a message, and a new (but frankly uninteresting) picture of the Joker.

It's disappointing, because almost everything else this marketing crew has set up has been great fun to pick apart!

Yeah, it's no longer working on mine. Maybe they fixed it?

http://www.slashfilm.com/2007/10/31/new-joker-photo-on-whysoseriouscom/

In some ways, I'm kinda glad it got solved. I was seriously ready to hit the town with a camera a while ago, and that is free time I just do not have.

Okay, those look... alarmingly good! I'm on record as saying that Watchmen, while very, very good, is not a book I actually *enjoy*, but I think I might be looking forward to this movie.

I tend to ignore subject lines, so I didn't get it until I saw the newstand photograph and then I was like, "Whoa! That's ..." Eerie, actually.

Got the header (at least i think I did! I did latin for a couple of years at school...I was not that good at it.)
Then looked through the photos and to be honest, they are ok. Yes the newstand one is good (actually looking at it again, it's pretty much spot on perfect)but the rest, including who I think is Mr R walking past the nixon poster (it is him isnt it?) do very little for me.
I hope he pulls this off, I really really do. The GN is possibly my favourite comic ever but I cannot see how they can do it justice in 2 hours.
Thanks for posting these sir

OK, I would actually be tempted to eat at a Gunga Diner if one existed.

But putting a comic store - even if it's Treasure Island - in that neighborhood? There's something else gotta be going on there (i.e. a drug front).

I guess I don't get it. But this gives me hope for the Watchmen film, even if it's just the visuals.

They'd have to have gin and beer on the menu.

Though I've belted you and flayed you,
By the livin' Gawd that made you,
You make a better two over easy with hash browns and a side of grits than I do, Gunga Diner.

Awww, and now I just wish I could have heard it. One of these days.

By the way, it looks like Montreal Fringe has 75-100 seats for all shows, which means I'm absolutely gonna need your help (please!) should I apply, because yow, that's a-lotta seats. Eep.

Squeeeee!

Look! Poster for Black Freighter, new issue! And the kid on the bucket is reading it!

ooh, do i dare to hope...?

Great Vishnu, please let this not suck. Otherwise I'll have to move to Ozymandias' secret lab and bathe in Nostalgia to get the stink of failure out of my hair.

From: [identity profile] thehefner.livejournal.com
As I understand, they'll be doing Black Freighter as a DVD extra, possibly animated or not, starring Gerald Butler. Apparently, they're gonna do LOTS of supplemental material for the DVD, just like the comic did. Sounds perfect, really.

Why don't you just explain it so that the rest of your flist can join in the fun. Where are these from?

Gunga Diner. AHAHAHA. Gunga Din.

Oh, oh. ♥ One of my friends sent me these pictures last night, but I can't help but squee over them again. I mean, not that I doubted the movie would be visually brilliant (THE COMIC SELLER AND THE GUY WHO ALWAYS READS. WHY SO PERFECT? T___T). Upon further investigation, I also approve of many of the casting choices (what little I KNOW about actors, lol) a-and it's officially on record that the pirate story is going to be integrated. I-I just...

I DON'T WANT TO GET TOO OPTIMISTIC, BUT IT'S GETTING DIFFICULT TO SNORT DERISIVELY ABOUT IT THESE DAYS.

Date: 2007-11-27 08:06 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] thehefner.livejournal.com
But the pirate story will, it now seems, be done as a DVD extra. In fact, it looks like they'll be pumping the DVD full of supplimental material, much in the same way the comic did. Dare I hope for a commercial or Viedt action figures?

They're getting a ton of details right, right down to the casting (MATT FREWER AS MOLOCH!!! MATT FUCKING FREWER AS MOLOCH!!!), but the script... no word on the script. Dear lord, let this be good. Let this be an Oscar-contender superhero movie.

It is, but we never see it. That's just the line from Rorschach's journal as we watch the police hose off the splattered remains of the Comedian from the sidewalk.

Ah yes of course. I could have sworn there was an image of it though but now that I think about it and thread the shattered peices of my memory a bit I can see it... It looks good, and it feels good. I think a bit more grime and garbage wouldn't have hurt. The people seem too clean. The images are encouraging.
