Both DEADPOOL CLASSICS trades are $30 (!!!!!!!!!!), and the first only has the first Joe Kelly issue! But after someone posted the earlier Mark Waid issues with Black Tom and Juggs, which were pretty darn good too, I'll have to pick it up when I feel like blowing the cash. In the meantime, I do not begrudge you the dirty internet pirate route. Sheesh.

Ugh, Bendis' Mary was perhaps the best-looking to date, but it was just... at least she didn't sound like Bendis, that's a plus and achievement in of itself. But A.) that wasn't in character for her AT ALL, and B.) she was just a flat, character-less saying-random-things-to-show-how-CRAZY-she-is person.

OTOH, I kinda loathe Typhoid when she's written by her original creator, Ann Nocenti. She feel like Nocenti's Mary Sue character in some ways (kinda like how Anakry and Ventriloquist were for Alan Grant, who inserted them into every comic he could!), and was just kind of an annoying, hateful character.

And yet, I've always WANTED to love her! The potential was there! And thus far, the only, ONLY time I've seen that potential tapped was in that DEADPOOL storyline. It has her be sexy, scary, sympathetic, almost redemptive, and then just when you think the story's over, that last fight scene sneaks up on you and the result is indeed way more intense than it has any right to be. She's awesome and terrifying, and man, I wish we'd see THAT Mary more.

I *really* don't want to have to be the one to write the Two-Face/Typhoid Mary fic, but damn it, I don't know if I trust anyone else to get it right. Sighhh.

Oooh, you have one up on me there. I haven't read the Bullseye issues yet...!
