The epic MGK sci-fi/fantasy book cover 'shopping

So at [livejournal.com profile] tazira's birthday party, I demonstrated my characteristic wit and dazzling conversational skills by asking where the nearest computer was so I should show people crap on the internet.

No, wait, this was important! I needed to show these people in particular the photoshop work of MightyGodKing.com. So here, for those who wanted to bookmark those pages and for the rest who need to see these, are the links with example images.

It all started with a box of old Steve Jackson/Ian Livingstone FIGHTING FANTASY gamebooks, which such new, improved covers as:

Followed by his epic three part series of Sci-Fi and Fantasy novels, both famous and infamous:

And part two:

Aaaaaaand part the third:

But wait wait wait, he wasn't done yet. There was one more topic left to be covered. A... FINAL frontier, if you will...

It was hard to choose one from each to post here. I laugh my ass off at most of them, even if I only get about 40% of the material they reference. That's comedy excellence right there.

LOL Oh man, these are classic.

Dude, if it was possible to ride into battle with each foot on the back of separate tigers.. well, I'd do it.

Those are fairly excellent covers.

Hehe, my husband made me start reading MGK a while ago, and after seeing these I became an instant fan.

Man's a hell of a writer, too. I usually have to pause for jealousy between sessions with his journal. *sigh*

Anyway, these are awesome; thanks!

Let's Have Sex on Mars?! I would totally pick this up if I saw it in a library not even caring what the plot was. But the cover confuses me-if you are suppose to be on Mars why does the guy look like he's underwater with a mermaid?

Also, have fabulous Romulans titled in pink font? My mind doesn't exactly think of battles...

(wandering in through journalhopping)

Dude is "the man from Mars", chilling on Earth, and sort of an illegal alien. (Human, raised on Mars, long story.) The law shows up at the pad where he's hiding. With his massively awesome physiological control, he chills in a meditative state at the bottom of his host's dirty pool.

A massively algae-infested pool. It looks like bright green jello.

Once the law has buggered off, one of the resident Hot Chicks swims down and pulls him out of his trance with a lingering (underwater) kiss.

Really, putting any new title on the first one is superfluous, unless it's FUCK YEAH I'M SURFING ON TWO TIGERS WITH A PANTHER CODPIECE, MOTHERFUCKER.

I'll be over here pretending I've never owned any of these.

-cough-

That was lovely. I was glad to see the Star Trek satires included a mutation of the cover of probably the weirdest of those novels I ever read, "How Much for Just the Planet?" It was Star Trek played for comedy even more than "The Trouble With Tribbles", and it contained a Human/Klingon pie fight.

It really is a shame that old Atari 2600 games were just a touch before your time. (Well, maybe, mayyybe, you were lucky enough to have one of those and nothing else to do with your time.)

Sadly, no, the furthest back I go is the Apple II (I played GHOSTBUSTERS and KARATEKA on that green-screened mutha!), but I'm in touch enough with his history to appreciate awesomeness like that!
