L.A. is a must
Mar. 5th, 2008 05:01 pmNote to self: try to find a gig space around September-October to perform in Los Angeles, and maybe Chicago. I now have more incentive than ever to visit L.A., above and beyond finally meeting up with
adaptor.
Heh, while I'm at it, maybe that would attract the attention of Hugh. Or probably not.
But yes. Must find good gig spaces in L.A., for one last show in my 2008 tour. If anyone has any ideas, I'm certainly open to 'em.
So it looks like I'm only working here for a week and a half. After that, I'm out. After months of thinking, "Ugh, I can't wait to be not working so I can go to the mountains for days on end and be a creative hermit," I gotta admit, this big sudden change in status quo... it's kinda scary.
Even besides all the free time I desperately need, I'm ready to move on. All I'm really going to miss is getting the new shipment in, and reading it before everyone else. That, and the occasional awesome person I meet along the way (like the one I met today).
Still... it's a big change, I've spent my whole life terrified of taking risks and upsetting the status quo. Even though I've still got a safety net or two, it's sometimes hard to take that first step on the tightrope, and even harder to keep walking.
