Because I don't have the brainpower for actual Misc. Thoughts right now.

First and foremost, a big shout-out to [livejournal.com profile] sex_and_tea of the lecterphiles LJ community for the custom-made icon. She rules, and rules heartily.

Speaking of icons, today I discovered a motherlode of new ones to use, so I splurged and bought 100 icons from LJ. Because I am an icon whore. And a comment whore. And an audience whore. Really, none of you should be surprised by the pattern here.

Anyway, Misty sent me these pictures and they are just too fascinating/horrifying not to share here. Apparently a friend/family/illuminati member of hers who has a farm in Australia took these.

In case you were wondering, she tells me yes, it's still alive, and yes, the electric fence is still on. It's getting more and more pissed off the more zapped it gets.

Huh. Didn't know snakes had teeth in those places. But hey, on the plus side, at least it's not venomous.

And finally, the trailer for THE PRODUCERS is finally out! Oh my god, it's so beautiful. Nathan Lane being the great loud last vaudevillian alive that he is! Matthew Broderick being wimpy! Will Ferrel singing "Haben sie gehort das Deutsche Band?"! Uma Thurman and her praying mantis legs of death! YAYAYAYYYAYAYAYYY!!!

Serenity is all well and good. But THIS is where the happy be for me. Can't wait for the full quicktime trailer to be released.

Cool pics and all, but why don't they turn off the electric fence, let the beast calm down a bit, and then get the vet to tranquilize it and move it away. Poor little snakey....

Geez, way to suck the fun out of everything, as usual ;)

That's actually a very good question. I'll have to ask the old girl sometime about the snake's fate. I was too busy being morbidly fascinated to even think about that.

Remember that the way a python eats is to swallow its prey, whole, sometimes not quite dead. (See the famous picture of the alligator and the python from earlier this week.) Look at how sharply those teeth turn inwards. They're job isn't to cut the prey up or even to kill it, but to keep it moving in one direction: towards the gullet. Those aren't just teeth. They're ratchets.

Pretty cool, actually. I've never seen such a good picture of it.

Did you hear about the python that tried to eat an alligator in Everglades and burst in the process? It was only a 6 foor gator, but still it's frightening to think what those things could do to the food chain.

*sound of the world's largest straw at the bottom of the world's largest milkshake* :)

The only reason I thought of it is that I grew up on a farm with an electric fence. Turning it off was an important step in the learning process. :)

But no, those pics are really very good. I can see why the second one might give you nightmares.

Okay, that trailer makes me SO HAPPY. I saw it on B'way when it still had Nathan and Matthew and my own beloved Roger Bart and this movie looks like it will be amazing. GOD I wanna see it now.

Yeah, I thought about that when I posted the comment. I still haven't seen that movie, but it's on my Netflix list.

I used to have a pet bal python. Small, over a foot but not quite two. Once he bit my hand instead of the mouse (my own fault) - even small pythons have teeth. Luckily he didn't hold on long, and the cuts weren't too deep. I'd hate to be bit by that python, not only because it probably wouldn't be a mistake, but it wouldn't just be little cuts, either :P

Great, now my overactive imagination shall plague me for another night, thank you very much ;)

By the way, there's a great preview for the upcoming BOOKS OF DOOM miniseries. Thought you'd be interested.
