thehefner: (Ape or Leela? Ape or Leela?)

The great [livejournal.com profile] fishymcb wrote in his journal, and I quote, hoping he will be cool with it:

"I have a love-hate relationship with the Washington Post Express, but the snarky captions to their celebrity news blurbs in the Look Out section delight me to no end. Of particular mention is their comment on a story about Phil Collins talking up a Genesis reunion, including his willingness to play drums if Peter Gabriel wants to come back and sing (you're damn right Phil. Know your role, you vastly inferior man!). The photo was an unflattering shot of Phil belting out a tune, and the caption noted that as he gets older, he starts to resemble "a really angry Gerber baby". I laughed out loud, no lie. Awesome."

Now. I have no great love for Phil Collins. Peter Gabriel-era Genesis, what I have heard at least, is bizarre pretentiousness that goes on forever with atonal music and crazy costumes. All that said, the idea of Gabriel and Collins reunited with the original band and touring (and Collins reduced to drums and back-up vocals too) makes me a very, very excited geek indeed. As long as they sneak in "Sledgehammer" and "In the Air Tonight" (again, no great love for Collins, but damn if that ain't a good song; even Eminem gave props to it, for the thrupenny fuck that's worth) along the way, that'd be even better. *fingers crossed*
