I'm revising my novel yet again. This time I'm trying to put a bit more humor into the banter. I've got to compete with the Joss Whedons and Shane Blacks of the world, now don't I? Serious, irony-free dialog is dead! DEAD says I!
Y'know, it occurs to me that the way I'm writing the friendship between the two main characters, Sam and Alan... well... I think I've been drawing my experience from their troubled relationship from my last couple girlfriends. Without even realizing it, there are some serious, "OH SHUT UP AND KISS HIM ALREADY!" moments.
When I start seeing slashfic based on my work and LJ icons that say "Bluestone/Crowley=OTP," that's when I'll know I've made it.
