thehefner: (YAY!)

Ever get those days where you have to ask yourself the important questions, such as: "Who would I cast as who in a Muppet version of Hamlet?"

I think I left half my art supplies at [livejournal.com profile] fiveseconddelay's place. Which means I'll have to pick 'em up from him at the New Year Party at the Jak-ster's place. Along with, I hope, a USB cord compatible with the digital camera so kindly loaned to me by [livejournal.com profile] aeonata so I can actually load these bloody pictures so I can finally get to work on my bloody comic!

I love art supply shopping. Now I just hope I have a modicum of talent to make the splurging worthwhile.

Statler & Waldorf as Rosencrantz and Guildenstern (or Guildenstern & Rosencrantz)
Rizzo & Gonzo as the Grave Diggers
The Swedish Chef as Claudius
Miss Piggy as Gertrude
Animal as Laertes
Camilla the chicken as Ophelia (Janice from the Electric Mayhem as understudy)
Dr. Teeth as Polonius
Rowlf as Horatio
Dr. Bunsen Honeydew as Fortinbras, with his assistant Beaker as the messenger
Sam the American Eagle as the ghost of King Hamlet
And starring Fozie Bear as the Hamster
And Scooter as Alfred, from Stoppard's R&G Are Dead.

Thank you for this morning exercise. I've been stirring Muppets around in my head too long. I was dubbed Janice when we assigned Muppet names to everyone on my college ambualnce corps.

What do you mean "script"?!?

Kermit as Hamlet
Scooter as Horatio

Rowlf as Fortinbras
Bunson (and Beaker) as Laertes
Statler and Waldorf as the grave diggers
Sam the Eagle as the player king

See, I'd put S&W as the gravediggers.

And Sam The Eagle as Fortinbras.

I'll take a crack...

Can I just say that your icon is one of the best things I've seen all day? Oh, Kermit, were I a muppet, I'd marry you.

I second this, on both counts. :-)

I forget...do you know Sports Night? If not, you should. :-) Either way, you will enjoy this: http://www.livejournal.com/users/fox1013/951110.html

It's Sports Night/Muppets crossover. And brilliant!

I'm not sure that it is TOO animated. Kermit looks like he stepped in the garbage disposal.
I'll look for art supplies and throw in a USB cord of some type for tonight.

Hey, what's not to love there?

Much appreciated, thankee! I dunno if the camera port will accept any kind of USB, so we'll have to see.

I'm trying to read it, but not knowing the characters (I know some obsessive Sports Night fans, but I missed it) I feel rather lost. I don't have a feel, not even a face, for these people. I feel like I'm missing a good deal.

Hm. Sorry about that! Well, the series is on DVD if you feel like checking out some episodes...I've archived the piece at [livejournal.com profile] snarchive, so it'll be there whenever you want to give it another shot. I think you'd like the show. Enough historical/literary/generally smart jokes to keep a smart guy like you interested. ;-)

(That's Jeremy in my icon. He's the math geek, and I love him.)

Yay, I got the smarty-brain! WOO!

Seriously, though, I'll add that to my "must rent" list then. If only so I'll have something else to talk about with you and my Sports Night-obsessed friends (both of 'em!)

Woohoo! Because it was a half-hour show, you'll probably get through both seasons rather quickly. I'll write up a primer of a sort tomorrow. :-)
