So I just had one of my patented best ideas ever this week.

I recently discovered the name and location of the mall where DAWN OF THE DEAD was filmed. Monroeville Mall in Pittsburgh. It's still there and since it's in Pittsburgh, I imagine it probably hasn't undergone any major renovations since the 70's (I say half-jokingly).

So one of these days, once Bloo gets back to her home town of Pittsburgh, I am so driving up there with a digital camcorder (assuming I can find one to borrow from some kind friend *puppy eyes*). She and I will get made up as zombies (I'll use make-up while she's opting for a more "method" style by not sleeping for several days... her normal graduate-student state, I suppose) and we'll film ourselves walking through the mall as zombies. And then I'll edit it on my Mac and dub in the DAWN mall muzak (for those who don't know it, it's the end credits music on ROBOT CHICKEN). And it will be awesome.

Of course, if we can't find a digital camcorder, I suppose it would still be fun to do that anyway. But without the music, it's just not as fun! It'd just less of a "best idea ever" and more of a "pretty damn good" idea.

Come on, zombie fans. Tell me this wouldn't be awesome in its own gloriously dorky way.

As an inhabitant of the city that spawned the Zombie Walk and a first-hand witness to it, this would be totally awesome in a gloriously dorky way.

Lord, how I'd love to do the zombie walk. We got one or two here as well, none in DC, I don't think.

I urge you to do this ASAP. I can find no fault in this endeavor.

I'm not even a fan of zombies and that sounds like a good idea.

You know, it occurs to me that you might like to see what happens (http://community.livejournal.com/sages_of_chaos/5150610.html?nc=287) when comic book characters are faced with a living emodiment of the Power of Retcon.

Had me laughing for a full hour last night.

Holy bejabbers, that... that was fucking astounding. The Beetle stuff was utter awesomeness, as was "That's it. KNIVES IS YOUR UNCLE." "YOU CAN'T DO THAT!"

See, yeah, *that's* more the stuff I can get into. I still don't know which charatcter I would want to dedicate an entire journal to.

BTW, you may be one of the only people to "get" this icon.

Arisia! Yes, I got it the first time I saw it, and...well, chortled would be the only appropriate word. Ah, Hal, when he went all Reed Richards with his Distinguished GreyTM.

How's the eyes, hon?

Yeah, we really don't like to think of Hal when he was shacking up with a kinda-sorta underaged girl. But I love Oingo Boingo, so that won out this time.

Ah, the eyes? Well, the drops I'm taking to dilate my left eye have rendered me basically blind there, and so I will be as long as I keep using the meds. I can drive just fine and see distances, but am for all intents and purposes blind in my left eye for anything within ten feet. When I read or ring up customers at the store, I have to look like Popeye to read the bloody register.
