No, wait, in fairness, there are three things above all that stand out as things I really, genuinely liked/loved in this movie.

1.) The Sandman's silent "rebirth" after becoming the Sandman. That was really sad and moving.

2.) The newspaper in J. Jonah Jameson's office that read "DOC OCK ALIVE?" or something like that. I FUCKING KNEW IT. His arms wouldn't have let Otto die like that, no way! He's easily the single best character in the entire trilogy, no way in hell he was gonna go down like that, heroically or not!

3.) Bruce. Always, always Bruce.

You're right, Sandman's rematerialization was absolute brilliance. I just watched in awe at the detail of the CGI there.

And Bruce is...well, Bruce, and thank God he and Sam are on speaking terms.

And J.J., as always, rules.

1. Yep.
2. Jonah had less screen time, I thought, but it was all perfect.
BZZT. Hee.
3. He just rocks. It's what he does.

Yes, but... but... the newspaper! Doc Ock! Alive! The box, the box!

And just think, all that screentime that went to Dunst could have been used for more story development AND J.J screen time.

Too bad the same can't be said for Danny Elfman.

Hon, you know I agree with you on this one. Thank {deity} that Sony still held the rights to the main themes and main character themes, but wow, does the rest of the scoring fall flat. I wish that Sam and Danny would have set aside their differences and just worked together on the last one.

I dunno, Dunst never really bothered me. I know she's not a perfect MJ but she never seemed jarringly atrocious either(I'm not an avid spidey reader so I don't know for sure). They definitely could've devoted less screen time to dancing/singing and to phone tag though.

She's consistently stoned (no, I'm totally serious), and thus never opens her eyes all the way, making her look and sound perpetually bored and tired. Add to that that she's devoid of any real charm, aside from what a wet shirt in the rain can middlingly provide. Also, funny teeth.

To cap it all off, she recently said in Entertainment Weekly, "Movie audiences aren't stupid. They know that without me, Toby, or Sam involved in a SPIDER-MAN movie, the movie will flop." Seriously. I so want to smack her for that kind of wrong-headed arrogance.

And finally, need I remind you of this?

touche. I didn't know about that quote from EW as I don't read that magazine, that is sort of haughty, especially since many have said that the crew feel themselves above this sort of movie (which they clearly aren't)

Yep. She's a major stoner. Has admitted it several times recently, even. That could be the source of her believing that without her, Tobey, and Sam, the next SM movie will flop. The first time I read that quote, all I could think of was, "One of these things is not like the other..." No Sam? A big problem. No Tobey? Big problem. No Kirsten? Hey, is Bryce Dallas Howard busy...?
