So yeah, that Heath Ledger Joker picture was the real deal. And y'know, I say again, the design doesn't really shake me up all that much because I'm still totally uncertain about Heath himself. But y'know, I'm starting to finally lean toward actively hoping it will be good. Bit by bit, I'm actually really sincerely hoping Nolan surprises the hell out of us all. Before, I was just apprehensive, and I still am, but just less so. We'll wait and see... but I'm really hoping he's got something fucking brilliant in store, s'all I'm saying.

But the one bit of real encouragement here, from where I'm standing? The fact that they're apparently willing to go this dark with the Joker means, to me, that there's not gonna puss out when it comes to Two-Face. I've always thought that to do Two-Face right, he should seriously be nightmare-inducing scary, but more realistic than not. Batman movies in the past have, not surprisingly, shied away from the scarier aspects, or made them more abstract or cartoony.

If Joker's cheeks can be slashed open like a character in a Takeshi Miike movie, they'd damn well better go all-out for poor ol' Harvey Dent.

Oh, and hey, I'm doing a little something-something on stage this weekend, aren't I?

The Rude Mechanicals Present:

(The Tragicall History of Dr.) FAUSTUS by Christopher Marlowe
directed and adapted by Paul Davis, Amy Rauch and Christine Davis

Ladies and gentlemen...

The show is about to begin. The last remnant of cigarette smoke fades
as the stage door closes. The hum of bated stage lights ready to show
fangs. Murmurs about dinner and Aunt Donna and her stupid dog
disintegrate with the house lights. The lights blaze screaming with
music in time with bodies and voices. Motes of dust in the air mix
with light and a wink to stop your breath....

Friday June 1st and Saturday June 2nd, 8:00pm

Sellers Theater

FAUSTUS GOES TO HELL....

For more information on show dates and tickets:

Where can it be found?

Yes, but the Scarecrow is just the Scarecrow, a villain... hell, a character who isnt on par with someone who has the depth, weight, baggage, potential, and history of Joker or Two-Face. Scarecrow's kinda two-dimensional, most times.

Also, did you see the link for FAUSTUS info above? That should tell you everything you need to know. If it doesn't, you hit me up and I'll help you out.

While I am not as big a fan as you I do appreciate Harvy Dent as a character.

Are there any good Batman/Harvy Dent stories you can reccomend?

Ah! I'm stealing that (well printing it out and pinning it up on a cork bulletin board) and hanging it out at work!

I always figured a 'realistic looking' Two Face (like Nolan seems to like making the villans appear, as close as he can without losing their comic essence) would be a guy with one side of his face hideously scarred/burned-no wacky different colors, except for maybe a raw red/white of scar tissue. As long as it's not bright magenta (no Mr. Schumacher, Two Face is not gay. We already give you the bat nipples Mr. Schumacher...)
