if they do the storyline where Max manages to worm his way into the JLA's confidence, and then betrays them, and then turns out to be mind-controlled by an evil AI from beyond the stars, bucks the control, etc? That could be an awesome story.
And just because Hal is the star doesn't mean we won't see John. Hal is the one who recruited him, after all.
