So I'm listening to my iPod while I'm at the gym, pumping away on the Arc Trainer to Clint Mansell's THE FOUNTAIN soundtrack while I watch AIR FORCE ONE muted on the screen. I'd turn it off, but we're right at the climactic battle between Harrison Ford and Gary Oldman, with the legendary action-movie line, "GET OFF MY PLANE." *boot*
That's when I slowly realize that the music I'm listening to syncs up to the movie perfectly.
Seriously, if you start playing the epic track "Death is the Road to Awe" (heard in the trailer for I AM LEGEND) just when Jurgen Prochnow is being released, the next eight minutes and twenty-six seconds give AIR FORCE ONE a newfound sense of epic awesomeness that only Clint "REQUIEM FOR A DREAM" Mansell could provide. And the track has two climaxes, a veritable multiple orgasm of music, thus making it perfect for both the dispatching of Oldman and the final fate of Prochnow.
And I'm thinking, "Holy crap, I've discovered a little miracle of random music and film coincidence... and no one will give a shit."
Oh, the bittersweet discoveries of life.
Okay, back to incorporating Bloo's edits of the Harvey Dent novel.
