Aye, the movie is good. I haven't seen the black and white version but it's quite good even in color. I heard that the black and white is better as well so that seems like the way to go. It's pretty visceral and intense, not something that you'd easily want to pop in the dvd player but it is definitely worth checking out.
That being said there are two nods to other King works which I thought were pretty kickass. The whole movie's good but those two things add a nice touch.
