In better news, I've received my show dates/times for my HEFNER MONOLOGUES show (title TBA) happening here in DC for CapFringe 3!

At the DC Arts Center, good ol' DCAC of all places! My old CLOSER stomping ground! Quite an upgrade from last year's five performances in a space that barely seated thirty-five.
Good thing the still-incomplete show script without a title is finally starting to inch slowly, slowly inch closer to something I'd be proud to perform all seven of those shows in front of fifty people, otherwise I might be seriously fucking freaking out right now you guys.
*Deep breaths. Deep, congested, snotty breaths*
The tricky thing is that this one is going to be a more proper monologue show, with less overt arm-flailing physical comedic stuff and more not-funny things. At present, I'm so close to the material than I fear I lack the insight to really know what's interesting and not too dry, too wanky, too wallow-y, or whatever.
But again, I'm getting there. Today in the revisions, inspiration hit and I exclaimed, "FINALLY!" Definitely a good sign. I'm starting to suspect that getting even more stressed and worn out is the *worst* thing for the ol' creative process.
Also neat about CapFringe this year: they've invited to participate in an artist round table discussion dealie on Solo Artists with about three or four other performers. I'm rather honored, really. Not a bad way to celebrate my first year in this mad, mad venture.
