ZOOLANDER is kind of bizarre in how I feel it stands apart from other comedies of its ilk. Honestly, I didn't like ANCHORMAN either, if it's any help. There's just something else about ZOOLANDER, and you may not like it anyway, but it does deserve a watch.
WALK HARD really depends on a knowledge of music biopics in general (particularly WALK THE LINE, RAY, BEYOND THE SEA, and GREAT BALLS OF FIRE!), but I wouldn't have watched it anyway if I hadn't read this (it was the clip of the first recording session with the great John Michael Higgins):
So maybe read that first and watch those clips if you want to gauge how you might feel, or just dive in head-first. When I finally did watch WALK HARD, I did so with Kevin B. and Don, both of whom laughed a lot but ultimately liked it just "okay." Much like I did with ANCHORMAN. Me, though, I loved WH.
