Trailer: THUNDERBIRDS

So. Someone (Jonathan Frakes, apparently)decided to make a Thunderbirds movie. But without the freaky-disturbing puppets. Will it be any good? Or will it try to ride the coattails of Spy Kids? I never grew up with the show, but since I suspect some here did, I'm posting for their benefit.

But on the plus side, it DOES have Ben Kingsley. And Kingsley, like Walken, Dourif, and Day-Lewis, have a magical way of upping the quality of whatever movie they're in (even the really, really crappy ones... bear in mind, this guy was in Species) by at least one letter grade.

Wow, it's hard to believe Derek Meddings didn't have a hand in the visual effects (he died in 1995) -- except to say that they are sticking to his essential designs for the TV series. Everything looks true to the look he gave it. I had to blink to make sure they WEREN'T moving around via Supermarionation.

Now if they'd just do Captain Scarlet, my wife would simply squeeeeee...
