Yeah, the rest of the cast felt pretty slapped-on.. especially the mutants they recruited, besides Mystique and perhaps Beast, it really would have been better without them. With the mutants pared down to Charles, Eric and Mystique versus Sebastian Shaw and Emma Frost (incidentally, I know people like to hate on January Jones, but I think she did a pretty good Frost. Although I've always liked Frost so that might be partly just cos I was happy to see her in the film), it would have been pretty damn great.
And I agree, 'Charles and Erik's Excellent Adventure' would be a great film. I'd watch the shit out of that.
