Director Robert frickin' Rodreguiez doesn't even call it an adaptation; he uses the actual comics themselves as the script and storyboard, panel for panel, and thus insisted creator Frank Miller get co-director credit.

Mickey Rourke back in the spotlight. Jessica Alba in assless chaps. Rosario Dawson in S&M. Bruce Willis being the only good guy in the whole damn city. Clive Owen with a dubious American accent. T3's Nick Stahl as That Yellow Bastard! And Elijah Wood will scare the shit out of you!!!
My only regret was that they couldn't fit in the Hell and Back storyline which would have starred Johnny Depp. But they have plans for a sequel.
