I think that SIN CITY, for me, is the equivalent to LOTR for, like, everybody else here. I mean, with Spider-Man 2, sure those were beloved characters brought to life and all, but it wasn't a direct adaptation of a specific storyline. Here, it's three whole SIN CITY stories, adapted word for word, panel for goddamn panel. This is unprecidented in the history of film adaptations.
As a movie, I imagine people could react one of two ways. Considering a distgusting amount of the moviegoing public simply cannot stand black and white, the black and white with added color in places thing, combined with the Miller-esque style of the film, is liable to prove too jarring for many.
On the other hand, having read the stories, I really think this film has the strong potential to become the next PULP FICTION. No kidding.
In the meantime, here's a larger, better resolution verson of the trailer.
Y'all can keep your dandified Depps. I'll take yellow bastards, Alba in assless chaps, prostetics galore, and a cannibalistic Frodo, thank you very much.
