At jayel's reccomendation, I rented the BBC version of Richard II. Holy God. Derek fucking Jacobi as Richard. I couldn't have dreamed for better casting. He played Rich angrier than the one I saw (and loved) in London, and while I prefer to see the King as a person more sad and broken than angry, this is Jacobi we're talking about here. As with seeing him in The Tempest, he actually got me a little misty-eyed. And the supporting cast...! Guilgud, Charles Gray (the narrator from ROCKY) and Jeremy Bulloch (yep, Boba Fett himself!). When the DVDs come out, this is the one I am going to have to own. Speaking of Charles Gray, we have an LP of Titus with the ol' Criminologist himself playing Saturnine and Judi Dench as Lavinia! Whoo! Now, if only the library had a working LP player...

On another note, it turned out I didn't have lab yesterday after all. I'm in the clear. After a series of events like this, I am convinced that either God is keeping me safe from my own stupidity, or else He's just doing this to ensure that I won't forget when the real thing comes around. Either way, it's a dubious comfort.

I just sent out an e-mail to Brenna, yet another girl, asking if she wants to go do something tomorrow. Yeah, yeah, e-mail's tacky, but I don't have any other way to get in touch with her. Geez, I'm really starting to regret not buying that official Playboy little black book right about now.
