... audition for TARTUFFE or direct CLOSER?

On one hand, I've never really directed a show before (I don't count JOE EGG because of obvious reasons) and I absolutely love this play. On the other hand, the scene I did for TARTUFFE was the most fun I'd ever had on stage and that play would be excellent expeirence. Besides, I do feel more of an actor than a director. Then again, even the director of TARTUFFE thinks I should direct CLOSER. But hell, I love the play but I fell in love with the movie first and am going to have to struggle to move away from that. Add to that perhaps the worst problem- four brilliant actors.

Hrmm... pondering, pondering.

hmm

my vote is to audition for tartuffe, for two reasons, one practical (i am just not sure how a production of Closer would turn out, given what you would have to work with, and it would just be heartbreaking if it turned out to be subpar) and one selfish (i love watching you act, so i have a biased opinion, and really, *extreme sarcasm* like you wouldn't get cast)

To direct you need somebody willing to let you use ther space.
To act you need to wait for someone to direct what you want to act in.
Tartuffe would probably be more fun, and there's no telling when it'll come up again, but it probably will.
Closer was recent enough that anybody who has seen the movie will be comparing it to your stage version, and you can whip it out later when you know you can get the 4 actors you need.

And obviously, Tartuffe would be the easier choice. Closer would be more difficult, but it's the choice you might learn more from.

I think... that I may have learned enough this semester. I think I'd like the last few months to be easier and fun, yes. Thanks, my friend.

I say actee, no directee. I base it on this fact alone:

If you directed CLOSER, you'd be taking advice from Ridgaway. Hahahahahaha-ahhhh...I kid because I love. Seriously, he's alright.

A-HA, but then again, if I did Tartuffe I was still be taking advice from Ridgaway, only it would be in direction. So I'm bascially screwed there, Flexo.
