First, the legendary actor/writer/director/activist Ossie Davis. After such an illustrious carrer as his, I think is bizarrely fitting that one of his final performances should be his restrained, poignant portrayal of JFK in BUBBA HO-TEP. And that's at the end of a long, important life of accomplishments.

Secondly, we've lost one of the great character actors of all time. John Vernon, best known as Dean Wormer from ANIMAL HOUSE, Rubert Thorne from BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES, and Mr. Big ("What, you think I'm too good to appear in an exploitation movie?") from I'M GONNA GIT YOU SUCKA. Fewer will mourn his passing, but like every great character actor they will always remember his face and voice, even if they never knew his name.

I always thought that was Harris Yulan who played Dean Wormer, you know, the guy who played the judge in Ghost Busters two, and the Father in Stewart Saves His Family.

RIP to both of them, I still want to see many of the Spike Lee movies that Ossie Davis and his wife were in. And I didn't know that Wormer the voice of Rupert Thorne-that was the greatest cartoon.
