Hey, those LOWT auditions are coming up, aren't they?

Now that dame_ratcliffe has reminded me in her last post, I'm wondering what monologue I'm gonna do for the League of Washington Theaters auditions. I'm thinking perhaps a monologue from VIGIL. I need something that can show my strengths, of course. On one hand, I know I'm good with bombastic, crazy, over-the-top stuff, and on the other, I also want to get cast in subtler stuff if at all possible. I love to make the audience laugh, but I'd rather make them cry (you know, without taking my clothes off).

Anyone know any monologues they think might be good for me, by any chance?

Hmm... yeah, this is my tentative plan- try to get professional acting gigs with LOWT auditions, try to get my novel published, find a job (must get application at Borders, but won't be able to for at least another week or so), and such and such. Ma's even offered to help pay for professional headshots (cavenessity and spacechild, it's a year later... any recomendations for photographers?).

But first, gotta graduate. Second draft of my novel is finished.

I really thought you were great in Vigil. I think a monologue from that will make you stand out very well.

there's a great monologue from The Suicide (can't remember the author's name at the moment, but some russian guy) where he's deciding whether or not to shoot himself. It's like to be or not to be but not shakespeare and not overdone, and still quite poetic and moving, but the character is also on the quirky side so its not really too heavy for leagues imho.
