My mother bought me a PS2 over ebay to cheer me up, the idea that I could do DDR in the comfort of my own home (the seller through DDRMAX2 in to the deal, as well as NCAA FINAL FOUR 2002, which I have no use for). She's determined to keep me happy and un-depressed over summer, and figures this may be the way to do it. Certainly, she's got a point. It's impossible to be depressed with j-pop.

Sadly, DDRMAX2 seems mainly comprised of American dance music. It's all well and good, but I want Butterfly, godpoundit! And maybe Speed Over Beethoven too! Ma's currently hunting on ebay to get the three other versions we yet require.

And when I say we, I mean we. She's been determined to figure out how to do this herself. I mean, she's basically inept when it comes to technology, computers especially. Which is odd since I thought for certain she knew how to do things like this year ago. Maybe she forgot. I dunno. Now imagine putting this woman on a DDR dance pad/controller. She's never played a video game before, give her credit, so maybe that could explain how the "options" screen and the concept of selecting and whatnot are completely foreign to her. Still, it's kinda sad/amusing to watch. She's currently in part 2 of lesson mode.

Me, I just feel like Sealab's Captain Murphy with a mission. "I want Butterfly! It was bouncy and happy and it was the stuff of love! Damn it! Maybe I'll eat some pudding. Pudding can't fill the emptiness inside of me. But it'll help."

Uh oh, they're booing her. Dance, Mother! Dance! ... wow, that had some creepy Norman vibes right there. Meh, I'm stuck with her all summer, whatever. (Please, people, take me out to a club or something! I don't want to be Norman Bates or Seymour Skinner! I mean, any more than I already am!)
