Jelly Belly now makes "Sport Beans." Energy jelly beans. I am vaguely disturbed. So far the only flavors are orange and lemon-lime. I await the release of tutti-fruity.

I am still very sad that I haven't seen an episode of Smallville from this season yet. I certainly hope Clark and Lana didn't do the nasty. I'm not so much offended by prudishness as much as I think that'd just be... lame. Lame is the word. Especially with Lois there, rrow.

I do so want to see James Marsters as Brainiac. He's a brilliant character and I hope to hell they do him right. Problem is, I doubt they'll ever capture the true essence of Brainiac. [livejournal.com profile] disc_sophist, you know what I'm talking about.

Seriously, if they dressed James Marsters up like this, ratings for Smallville would go through the roof. )

Oh, and look what just came out today at the comic shop. ABSOLUTE WATCHMEN. The whole book, oversized hardcover, completely recolored by colorist John Higgins and artist Dave Gibbons, artist notes, sketches, script pages, and more. Pretty pretty pretty. Must have now. Now!

So it's not just me. Apparently my brother also feels the same way as I do whenever our mother gets really upsets and starts to cry. We are both made deeply comfortable. There's just something to horribly uncomfortable about when she gets upset, as if even after all these years she's not supposed to get upset like that. And when I am helpless to do anything to aliveate her pain, well, that's all the worse, of course.

She just called me up, horribly distressed and upset, because the dog she adopted has escaped. She thinks she leapt over the fence. Now we have a scared dog loose in a whole region of the world she isn't familar with, and lord knows how the hell we're gonna get her back. I promised her I'd keep an eye out for her on my way home. There's nothing else I can do. This fucking sucks.

In better news, the agent recieved my novel manuscript today.
