Seattle is Go
Feb. 5th, 2008 03:50 pmOn the plus side, I'm performing THE HEFNER MONOLOGUES in Seattle on June 19-22. It's a good venue, the Capitol Hill Arts Center, which is where I saw the sold-out solo-performance monologue MONOPOLY!, plus it's connected to a popular restaurant and bar. So, fingers crossed.
Now comes the part where I blow a whole huge wad of cash on marketing. I'm not even entirely certain how we'll be doing this, but I've got somewhat experienced friends out there.
As for THE HEFNER MONOLOGUES itself, I'm anxious to try out the changes I've made to the script, come my performance this Saturday at WAC (psst, by the way, in case you didn't hear, I'm performing this Saturday at Washington College!).
They're pretty important additions, and if they work, they'll add a whole new vital level to the show. And if they don't... well, they don't.To give you a hint where I'm taking the show: I've been rereading this book, which helped form this show in the first place, and I've finally found a way to incorporate the rose petals.
Let's face it, I'll probably never be able to tell the whole Tammy story in a notable way, but I just may have found a way to make the rose petals work. Which would be nice, since they've been on the poster this whole time, but not actually in the show itself.
