.) So guess who Val and I ran into last night at the Shakespeare Theatre's production of "Lady Windermere's Fan"? JOHNNY TOLL. Yes indeedy do, everyone's favorite former President of Washington College, cafeteria magnate, and professional loveable gnome was there, decked out in a classic Tollian ensemble of a white and blue striped suit and white tennis shoes. He may or may not have recognized us, because hey, it's Johnny Toll, but if he didn't he did a damn good job faking it. Because Johnny Toll is the man. Who knows where he'll turn up next??
.) I was thinking about doing a series of pictures of Johnny Toll appearing on stage with U2, fighting at D-Day, and appearing next to Bub and Johnny Go, but I got lazy. Now entertain conjecture of a Toll, when creeping murmer and the poring dark... and so on, so on)
.) Andrew Long and David Sabin remind me why I keep returning to the Shakespeare Theatre, even when I dislike their shows.
.) Why I do believe it's Christmas for Johnny Go. I already just bought "Live from Las Vegas," with live tracks by Frankie, Dino, Louis Prima, and who I do believe is the direct ancestor to Johnny Go, Bobby Darin. Looks like I'm going to have so splurge and get the live Sinatra, Dino, Darrin, and the High Rollers album. Erm, all for research, you understand. But NOT the live Elvis. Because if there's one thing that Johnny Go hates in this world, it's that hick punk Presley. Vegas ain't your kingdom, pally, and if you don't high-tail it outta our town me and my boys're gonna make a little chin music, you dig, pally?
.) Once again, Wednesday and Thursday, movies at AFI. Who wants to come with me? Anyone? Anyone? C'mon! It'll be fuuuun!
