There's a party at Washington College tonight. A lot of people will be there. Old friends, graduates and students alike, for Labor Day weekend. I'm not doing anything tonight. I miss my friends. I miss my college. My friends are there. Kevin, Molly, Mikey, Joe...

And Misty. Misty and Clancy. Even if I don't see them, which is pretty unlikely in that school, they'll be right there.

I'm not sure if my not going up there is cowardice or self-preservation.

I miss my girlfriend. I miss my lover. But more and more, I also miss my friend.

Gah, that's hard. I've kinda been through that, myself. Can't miss it, as you'll miss all your friends. Can't go, as... yeah.

Don't go. Dining Hall Syndrome strikes and then real life calls you back to the misery. You become so ecstatic to be back only to be crushed when you leave with bullshit promises of "We'll keep in touch!"

Memory is a beautiful thing. Keep it safe.

Besides, at $3.15-$3.49 a gallon, that is one long ass trip. Plus you know no one will have money and everyone will want to eat and drink and party and .... I miss WAC too. I ain't heard from but 4 of my closest friends in years.

Well, I just recently visited my old college mates after a prolonged absence caused by me and my significant other, who by the way, was also my best friend, having a huge and ugly falling-out. I moved 3000 miles away. We didn't speak for years.
We are finally speaking again, and it is good. I think enough time has passed that we can be friends again, which is such a lovely thing that I really can't articulate it.
It sounds like yours is awfully fresh, but I wouldn't let that stand in the way of seeing your friends.

It's heartening to hear you're friends with your ex again. Misty and I got really close as friends, which is all fucked now. It's been clear from the start that she really misses me as her friend. I just can't watch her do what she's doing in her life now and be detatched about it. But I do miss her, painful as it all was/is. It's kind of nice to know that she lurks my journal as she waits for me to come around.

I will definitely be going back up to college in the coming months to see my friends in plays, thesis productions and all. I just have to be prepared for seeing her and whoever she may be seeing by that point, be it Clancy or anybody else (all these new names about people you don't know, ain't this fun?).
