Small Press Expo is today! The biggest convention for independent comic publishers, the kinds of people who print their comics with a xerox and have ink-stains in places you really don't want to see. Plus Harvey Pekar! Maybe I'll get him to sign my DVD of American Splendor!

Some people go to conventions and meet artists to amass a collection of original art. Sometimes these people have particular themes to their collections. I've seen whole personal collections of professionally done Star Wars scenes, Batgirl, even Mister T. Time was I used to do a whole collection of my favorite characters, Two-Face and Hal Jordan Green Lantern. However, as SPX is all about independent publishing and whatnot, trying to get a drawing of a mainstream character like Harv or Hal isn't quite as... we'll say feasable. So I'm gonna see if I can't start a new collection.

I'm gonna see if I can't get a collection of as many artists as I can depecting Bub and Johnny Go. I'll start with Batton Lash, mayhaps the idea will amuse him. This is the guy who did Archie Meets The Punisher after all.
