And you know what? That's the way it should fucking STAY. The story is extraordinarily visual, and just perfect for a comic adaptation. But I never, never, NEVER want to see a film adaptation. Never.

I'm only on book three and they go up and down with quality, but man, I absolutely love the worlds and characters and pure mythos King has created.

Has King written comics before?

The only comic work he's ever done (not counting CREEPSHOW) was a couple pages for the X-Men superstar charity book "Heroes for Hope" with Kitty Pryde. He also did the comic of CREEPSHOW with artist Bernie Wrightson as homage to the great EC Comics horror stories like Tales from the Crypt. It's a great book and the movie's a ton of fun too. But he's never done anything like this.

When is this coming out????

The Dark Tower series is what first got my into King. At the time I was living in Norfolk, VA and dating someone who lived in NYC. There were only 3 Dark Tower books out at the time, and they were on tape... unabridged and read by Stephen King himself. I remember screaming at my cassette player at the cliffhanger at the end of The Wastelands (my favorite of the series).
