Why, thank you! You're a bit of a fragrant rose petal yourself.
psst- Give me a movie title or three that you haven't seen or don't own. I'm going to go to a couple of movie stores this afternoon, and it'd be fun to pick up something new for this evening.
Ooh! Um... well, it's hard to say what I haven't seen until somebody says, "Hey, you seen this?" and I go, "Uh, no."
But Gangster no. 1 is a good choice, as would be a film I've always needed to see, La Jettee (I think that's the correct spelling). Seen it? It's what Twelve Monkeys ripped off, and I love Twelve Monkeys.
You have seen Diabolique and Withnail and I, right?
Tell me if you've seen the following: Akira Kurosawa's Ran, Zatoihi the Blind Swordsman, Sonatine, Hana-Bi (Fireworks).
I've also rented BUT not see Big Wednesday, a film many call one of the hands-down greatest of the 70's, but you wouldn't know it because it's about surfers. Tarantino said "surfers don't deserve Big Wednesday." I could bring that'un over too.
Totally understood. What time is good for you? I am in complete ignorance of your schedule. 7-ish sound ok? It would give me time to move the more offending piles of offal.
Ok, so as thrilled as I am to have discovered a Borders right near my work, it's not much on the lesser knowns. Found nothing I was looking for, though if I spend much more time there I will own the Blackadder AND Jeeves & Wooster complete box sets. I am so weak.
And just because spamming you is fun, I have seen Withnail & I and Diabolique, and either can come to visit at my house whenever they want. I've only seen W&I straight through once, since it was college, and one watches movies on one's bed in college. Or more specifically, someone else's. OK, that's too much info. And yet I post. *woe*
Also, I think I've seen some of the Zaitoichi series, but not the film. Which did you mean?
Also also wik: I think the Masters of Horror thing is hilarious and stupid. Mostly stupid. I hope they sell the rights and lose vast amounts of money in dvd sales.
And it's so hard to find good virgins these days. All that "everything but" stuff and the next thing you know your life-extending bath is just another game of Marco Polo.
