I... have just seen the final episode of "Justice League Unlimited." Just like "Firefly" before it, an excellent show is being cancelled by the fucked-up mishandling of a network. At least JLU knew about the cancellation long enough to prepare for a grand finale.
Now I have seen that grand finale. I feel like I've lost a best friend. Wow. That... was fucking amazing. The best lines?
SUPERMAN: Oh come on! It's Lex flippin' Luthor!
and...
LEX LUTHOR: Sorry I'm late. I had to get my power suit.
Of course, none of that makes sense or has any impact without context. Which means you should watch this show. Really. If you're a fan of Joss Whedon, Stargate SG-1, Farscape, Lost, any of that geek stuff, you *need* to be watching this. Go. The DVDs are coming out soon.
Now after seeing that heartbreakingly awesome episode, how can I follow that up spending the rest of my day? I'm gonna finish watching STREETS OF FIRE. Ever seen this? It's atrocious. It's like a SIN CITY musical by Jim Steinman. You know, Meat Loaf's songwriter? He does the songs here.
God damn Jim Steinman, he needs Meat Loaf's grand bombast. If anyone else sings his songs, they just sound like lame crap. Like Celine Dion and "It's All Coming Back To Me Now"? *shudder* Even worse, have any of you hear Jim try to sing? It sounds like someone strangling a goat. Or Stevie Nicks, whichever's worse *rimshot* Thank you, thank you, I'll be here all week. Try the veal.
In other news, I finally got smart and started posting want ads for a comic artist in MySpace and Craigslist and have gotten quite a few responses. I think I may have finally found my artist for BUB AND JOHNNY GO! But we'll see how that pans out.
