Batman/Daredevil... or rather, Harvey Dent/Two-Face/Mary Walker/Typhoid Mary

Y'know, I'd really love to do a Batman/Daredevil cross-over. Now, I know they've been done, but who really remembers or gives a shit about them? No one, sadly. I think it'd be a great story anyway, but there's one reason I want to do this story, one reason above all. Well, two actually. Or technically four.

Two-Face and Typhoid Mary.

Most of you are probably familar with the former, the good guy district attorney who snapped and became one of Batman's greatest foes, perhaps just under the Joker. Fewer of you know Mary, sweet, shy little Mary who houses the split personality of Typhoid Mary, a fucking crazy ass psycho nymphomaniac who has poison kisses, the ability to telepathically set fires, and loves knives and fishnets. The only reason they haven't shown her fuck someone's open wound with a strap-on is because the comics code wouldn't allow it, the wimps, but I know she would. She's just that crazy psycho.

You just know if these two met up, it would only lead to violent, violent, angry, vicious, nasty, hateful fucking. Like, buildings would be demolished. And of course they'd keep changing personalities throughout. From Harvey to Typhoid to Mary to Two-Face, round and round they'd go. It would be the only two person foursome in history, and it'd just be *fucked up* man. Just vicious, evil, nasty, dirty, wrong, terribly, terribly wrong sex.

The more I think about it, the more I realize that I simply have to write this story. If I can't do it as a comic, then one of these days I'll simply have to write the FanFiction. It'll be an actual story, but I would have to dedicate an entire issue to the sex. This would be an interesting experiment for me, of all people, to see how far I can push this. Perhaps I'll have to go to some of my good friends here for help and suggestions as to the best worst nasty violent sex ideas out there, eh?

One of these days, oh yes, I will totally have to do this. Even FanFiction, if that's what I'm reduced to. But come on, tell me you wouldn't rather visually see that happen. Scars and fishnets, baby.

It's a shame really. No movie is ever going to portray Harvey and Mary like THAT. Hell, most comics wouldn't either.

Just the same, I gotta ask. Who would you like to see take that project? Writer? Artists? (director and actors??) I'm curious. Alternatively, if you were writing it, who would you get to draw it?

It's not just about sex acts not allowed in any country, it's about presenting them to impressionable comic readers!!

Director? At first I thought maybe David Fincher, but no, I think hands-down the only choice here is David Cronenberg. No one else quite does psychological and flesh-defying sexual wrongness like him.

I really want to be the one to write this. Besides the sex, I want it to ultimately be a story of redemption, my favorite kind of story. As for artists, well, that's a toughie. One off-kilter option would be Bruce Timm (designer of Batman: The Animated Series). I've seen him do a similar type story before. He already does an awesome Harvey, and his Mary would be astounding. If I think of any other good artists, I'll let you know. Who else is good at gritty, fucked-up sexiness?

Y'know what I may just end up doing? I'll change the characters' names and such around just a teeny bit and I'll make this a novel or a short story with my own characters. Keep it a thinly-veiled homage.

Interesting, but...

Aside from some depraved titillation and shock value, what would that story give the world that might actually be of value? Is there something I'm missing here? Cause it seems to me all we're talking about here is an X-rated hardcore snuff film.

Seriously, this story is rife with so many possibilities. You have Harvey Dent himself, a good and noble man who's been struggling with his evil half all his life. He and Bruce Wayne were best friends, and Batman's been trying to save and rehabilitate Harvey ever since, no matter how vicious and bloodthirsty he's been as Two-Face.

Then there's Batman himself, another man split into two personalities thanks to childhood trauma. He become the all-too human non-superpowered dark avenger of the scummiest parts of his city. Just like the protector of Hell's Kitchen, Daredevil.

Daredevil, on the other hand, is just as dark as Batman but not as grim. He has a very dark edge and a nasty temper, much less of an absolutist that Batman is and with a sometimes nasty sense of humor. But by day, he's the blind lawyer Matt Murdock, and he is very passionate about the law. Just like former district attorney Harvey Dent. Matt has also had a romance with Mary Walker.

Unlike Harvey, Mary doesn't know she's got an evil half. Mary herself is a weak, meek, timid person, whereas Typhoid Mary is even more unpridictible and unstable than Two-Face. She just lives to be an agent of chaos and destruction. While Bruce will never give up on trying to save Harvey, Matt eventually did give up on Mary and left her to her demons.

See how they all flow into one another? There is so much rich story potential here, much more so than your typical slash fic. But if I wrote all that, how many people would have spaced and skimmed over it after the second paragraph?

i rather agree.. but i know both characters. TM is actually a character i have come to really like lately, after reading her in DD and Deadpool issues.

but if you do it, stay away from the obvious bondage stuff.. so many people will think thats the way to go but it would never even get that far or organized (bondage generally takes work).

the fact is that you have TM, who is the biggest switch in history, who would go back and forth between top and bottom (pitcher or catcher?) too much for Dent to nail a single role down. he would be a top as two-face, but the severely hurting side as Harvey could go bottom even if he wasnt really a strict bottom type before the scarring.

power struggle is a better way to go. and not just between the two of them, but between each of them and their alteregos.

No, this wouldn't quite be bondage. That would be too tame and, you're right, overdone. This would be... Cronenbergian.

This would be blood, flesh, fury, animalistic rage, sadistic and wrong things with knives, nails, etc. See, I'm thinking of this being set in one of those "Harvey has plastic surgery and is just trying to live a normal life again" type stories, with Typhoid wanting to fuck him over and bring Two-Face out again. Why? Because she's Typhoid and she's fucked-up like that. Or maybe somebody hired her. Who knows? I'm still working on that. I'm just thinking, though, one of the ways she could force Two-Face back out is to fuck up his face. And not with acid. Shit like that. Just wrong shit going on.

Yeah, it would have to be all about the power stuggle. I ultimately do want this to be a real story, not just mindless and fucked-up sex. There could really be something here.

I met Mary through Bendis' DD, then went back and read her earliest stuff. Bendis clearly doesn't understand the first thing about how the character was originally intended. That said, I'd find some medium between the two rather different takes.

I'm actually gonna pick up from ebay WOLVERINE: TYPHOID'S KISS, which, from what I understand, also involves violent love between TM and Wolverine.

I don't like Bendis' "I'm gonna have her say things that make no fucking sense" style with Mary. "Condescend to me and my choice of flower!" What the fuck? Sorry, no. That side of Bendis pisses me off.
