Villains by Necessity
Apr. 3rd, 2006 02:13 pmY'know, I should form a rogue pirate theatre troupe. Like a floating crap game, only a floating production company putting up illegal shows. Just think about it.
"Thank you, thank you, we are the Villains By Necessity and thank you for coming to our production of CABARET! They wouldn't give us the rights, but that didn't stop us! Be sure to see us in WICKED at a yet-to-be-disclosed location this Friday, followed by me in a one-man-show version of THE PRODUCERS, which will be performed by the dumpsters behind Tequila Mockingbird. After that, we'll be putting up Morris Panych's VIGIL, CYRANO DE BERGERAC, assembled from five different translations where we picked out the versions we liked, DEAD MAN'S PARTY- a musical based on the songs of Oingo Boingo, and all of Broadway's hottest hits still not available for amateur production, all on... cheese it, it's the feds!"
*throws down smoke pellets, runs away*
Villains by Necessity- The only ones with rights are the PEOPLE!
(apologies to
tazira for stealing the name, it just seemed to fit)

Date: 2006-04-03 09:06 pm (UTC)Actually, I *could*. But it would be more fun as a group. We could spread the word via the underground through the clubs and the like. But how? Hmm... how do the ravers do it?
If you want to do this, I say life is short and DC has a very healthy scene for such an endevor. Philly too.
