thehefnerSo I caught HITCHHIKER'S GUIDE TO THE GALAXY again on TV, and I gotta ask you guys something. Now, I haven't read the books yet (actually, I wanna get 'em on tape, because the utter britishness of it just seems to demand to be read aloud), but did anyone else find Zooey Deschanel's performance as Trillian to be one of a very cold, stand-offish person who shits on Arthur and has a constant look of, "god, can't you do anything right?" to everyone and everything around her?
Because really, I realized today that her performance was the thing that juuuuuust pushed me over the edge and turned me off the movie as a whole. Which is a real bloody shame, because there is much delightfulness there. The whale may be my favorite part.
Yes, yes, I know, read the originals. Already working on that. I'm just sayin', I think the movie for me was utterly ruined by her there. All it did was remind me of Dave's theory about how Lois Lane is a terrible fuck.
