Got this in the mail:

"I received your resume from the League Auditions. Unfortunately I was unable to attend on the day you auditioned. I reviewed your resume and am interested in having you audition for a position in my company. Below is the posting for the position and I have attached a fact sheet about our company. Please take a minute to review it and if you are interested please contact me ASAP as we are setting up the schedule for auditions starting next week..."

And so on. Well! My first audition call from Leagues mass auditions... and it's from someone who didn't see my audition. Not that I'm complaining, mind you, since hey, an audition, cool! Still... well, I'll hold off on that thought until I see how many audition calls I get from the people who actually saw me audition.

It's for Interact Story Theatre, for a full year contract. Children's theatre ain't usually my thing. Nor are children, for that matter. But still, I don't suppose I can just go around turning things down. But then again, it's a whole year...

Well, there'll be no harm in learning more about the group and auditioning.

Dunno, but even if they could, I would much, much rather get my equity from doing the year-long acting fellowship at the Shakespeare Theatre (which I feel pretty strongly that I stand a good chance of getting) and/or the graduate program at Catholic U, which is tailored to helping actors get gigs and equity after school.

besides.. anything different will force you to stretch. it'll make a better actor out of you. it would for anyone.

Unfortunately, this being children's theatre, it would do the exact opposite. It would have me be my usual over-the-top self, which is the easiest thing for me to fall back into. There would be no growth at all, nor would it be in the field I really wanted to go into.

No, this has just become the deciding factor for me to apply to Catholic Univeristy. Which may not be till the spring semester at this rate. Assuming I can even get past the GREs. Gahh.

But yes, Hudson Hawk must and shall happen soon. Not this weekend, though. I'll be away.

well, maybe it doesnt have to be over the top. doing childrens theatre isnt like being a clown.. you dont just entertain them by being silly (this is not a comparison to your usual style, i'm just saying in terms of being over-the-top).
