SOLO is the best book that DC is publishing, hands-down. And so of course it's being cancelled.
For those who don't know, SOLO is dedicated each month to another artist to do pretty much whatever they want for 48 pages. We've seen brilliant stuff from Tim Sale, Howard Chaykin, Richard Corben, Darwyn Cooke (his was the best, IMO) and, released yesterday, Sergio Aragones.
For those who don't know, Sergio Aragones is the man. More specifically, he's been a contributor to MAD Magazine since 1963 and is one of the greatest cartoonists alive. I've taken the liberty of posting one of the stories from his issue of SOLO, out in comic stores now.
It's an autobiographical story of the time Sergio met Marty Feldman, star of YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN, among other great movies.
Please bear with the randomly resized images... lately, photobucket is disagreeing with me and choosing to resize some images over others. I gotta stop using photobucket for these things.
