SNAKES ON A PLANE is utterly delightful.

It's not a two-hour punchline. If it were, it would have gotten old and boring very quickly. It certainly wouldn't be worth the cash. It's be like a movie-length SNL sketch, and who cares, rigth? But this is worth the cash, trust me. It's pure movie fun. Not even "shut your brain off" fun, just plain, unapologetic fun. It's everything I could have hoped it would be.

But I cannot stress this enough: see it as soon as you can, with the biggest audience you can see it with. I don't know how it'll hold up during private home viewings. This movie is what it is now because of the fan community, and you need to see it with a whole crowd reacting and cheering along.

A side note: there's one scene where Jackson has to go down and turn the power back on, and all I can think of is, "Aw, shit, Sam! Last time you did that, a motherfuckin' raptor ate your ass!" So for those keeping track:

Raptors/Genetically Engineered Sharks > Samuel L. Jackson > Plane Full of Snakes.

Right. Got it.

But yeah. Damn fun movie. Thoroughly delightful.

Fully agreed -- Ty and I loved it. Already downloaded the Cobra Starship "Snakes on a Plane" song. :)

Actually, one point of difference: I think it's going straight to cult classic. In that, I don't think it'll pick up new viewers in mass audiences, especially on home viewing, but it has the bunch of us and a few more probably forever. :)

Nnnnno I didn't. I said "genetically engineered sharks" above, right next to raptors.

ok so for some reason, even though I told lj to delete the comment above it deleted the first post so I'm just going to reiterate that I said that you forgot the sharks even though you didn't. I also wanted to point out the irony in the fact that I read your multipart monologue posts with no trouble but these brief concise posts manage to throw me off...it's work..yes that's it I'll blame the job ha, ha! passing the buck!

I just saw it on opening day in Scotland and I LOVED IT. I couldn't stop cackling with glee long after the movie was over.

For some reason, I never possibly imagined you seeing it, and now the thought that you were utterly delighted as well throughout makes me really happy for some strange reason. But then, making me happy for some strange reason is what you do! ;)
