We're rehearsing tomorrow, Tuesday, Wednesday, opening Thursday, performing Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I'm not saying it's gonna be a disaster, but it's certainly gonna be... interesting.
And just when I'm thinking the last thing I wanna do is more theatre, I discover there're auditions going up for Eugene O'Neill's DESIRE UNDER THE ELMS. Anyone know if this play is any good? Because it sounds awesome, and doing Eugene O'Neill (my favorite of the Holy Trinity of American Playwrights!) may be *exactly* the kind of experience and exposure I'd need right now, as much as I wanna be focusing on Hefner Monologues.
Although only three people read HEFNER MONOLOGUES Part 4 and gave me feedback, I'm feeling confident enough to try my luck with the literary agent again. I'll send a letter off to her tonight, so here's hoping.
Also, GIP. Few will get this icon, and even fewer will probably be as giddily tickled as I am.

Date: 2006-08-21 12:36 pm (UTC)Actually, I read a bit of Hefner Monologues 4, but since I hadn't read the earlier parts I had no idea what was going on and didn't really feel qualified to comment. I bookmarked the link you gave to the other parts to read, but haven't had time to read yet.
I did really like what I could figure out, though!

Date: 2006-08-21 08:20 pm (UTC)but find a friend who is really good with words, literature, grammar, etc. have them read through all the HM's with a red pen, marking changes, mistakes, run-ons, or unclear ideas. anything that doesnt work. someone tough but fair.
the better it is going in to a publisher, the more time of day they might give.
