Auditioning Woes and London Plotting!

thehefnerI auditioned for O'Neill's DESIRE UNDER THE ELMS, but crapped out. I hate when you only get one go at it, only about two or three minutes, and they go, "Thank you, you can go." I'm not great at auditions as it is, but at least I get better when they give me a couple goes at it. I need to take an auditioning class at some point.
But honestly, as much as I love O'Neill, I read the play and I don't bloody know, it's not my thing. Honestly, I'd rather be developing the HEFNER MONOLOGUES. Looks like I'd better crack down on that.
Now, I could have auditioned for NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD last night. A troupe is gonna be doing it at DCAC. But I found out that the first performance weekend conflicts with my plans to go to Chicago for a week to see Bloo. And my girlfriend > play with zombies.
Besides, I already know it's not gonna be what MY version of a NOTLD play would be. And no matter how good theirs is, I know that my version would be fucking awesome. Can't do it this year, but maybe next. Maybe next. It would so totally rock.
Right now, Gordon and I are plotting to go to London in a couple weeks. I adore this city, but there are top three goals among all others:
3.) Seeing Patrick Stewart in ANTONY AND CLEOPATRA at The Globe.
2.) Seeing Kevin Spacey in O'Neill's MOON FOR THE MISBEGOTTEN at the Old Vic.
and 1.) Seeing TITUS ANDRONICUS at The Globe.
I'm told that for TITUS they issue a warning to the groundlings in front: "You WILL get wet." Hee hee hee. I'm going in a white t-shirt and stand in the front row.
