I really should do a London post, including my reviews of Kevin Spacey and Colm Meany in MOON FOR THE MISBEGOTTEN, the Globe's ANTONY AND CLEOPATRA, Ben Johnson's criminally underappreciated THE ALCHEMIST, and my first ever time seeing LES MISERABLES. Not to mention the movies I saw on the plane, INSIDE MAN, MISSION IMPOSSIBLE III, and BRICK. But I am too tired and exhausted.

So instead, I'll just say that I got the limited edition disc of EMPIRE STRIKES BACK in the mail, along with REAL GENIUS, because [livejournal.com profile] fishymcb *needs* to see that one. Yes, yes he does.

Also, I'm making a Beatles mix for Bloo and just finally listened to Revolver in its entirety. And I gotta say, I'm seriously underwhelmed by it as a whole. This is considered the greatest album of all time? I think the White Album is better by *far*. I just dunno with these bloody reviewers sometimes.

Finally, if you threw Matthew Lesko and that guy on "Mad Money" in a pit together, who would win? Assuming they even fought?

...sits in my script pile of "Plays I Want to Direct," along with Cyrano, Black Comedy, and The Shakespeare Curate's As You Like It.

Oooh, man, I'd *love* to see you tackle THE ALCHEMIST. In the Rudes particularly, it could be brilliant. When I write more about it, I'll remark on how unusual and unique a show it is.

I'd really love to hear what you thought of Moon for the Misbegotten. I'm probably flying over to see it one of these weeks.

I saw Les Miserables for the first time back in March. Fantastic, isn't it?

Oh man, Les Mis has been my all-time favorite musical since I was a little girl who acted it out with her Barbie dolls. What did you think?

REAL GENIUS, eh? Yessir. Oh, and I told Alan that we need to show him GREEDY. I love Revolver myself, but I'm sure it suffers from the excessive praise. I am a big fan of the White Album, and you almost never hear anything about or from it (really, the casual listener probably knows While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Birthday, Back in the USSR, Ob La Di, Ob La Da...and I guess Revolution, although only the faster non-LP version gets airplay). So hearing such a wide range of styles on one album, even a double album, that is generally ignored, gives the White Album that extra push. At least that's what I think. Oh, and Lesko wins in a walkaway. Come on, there's shouting and throwing things crazy, and then there's dressing like the Riddler crazy.

Holy crap, I think I need to join [livejournal.com profile] metaquotes purely just to quote you on that Lesko thing. That's astounding.
