One True Pairing

GIP, for the small handful of you who will think this is as absolutely delightful as I do. I can't believe I didn't think of this icon sooner.

It fills me with almost as much glee as knowing that I'll be seeing Bloo in about four days. Ma and I'll be driving up to Chicago for the week, and a grand time will be had by all. I'm trying to think of neat things to do in the Windy City, particularly what plays to see.

There are *two* productions of BEYOND THERAPY going on, so I'm gonna take her to one of 'em, and I also might go see THE PILLOWMAN at Steppenwolf, I remember hearing great things on that from 2sick2pray, did I not? There's also a production of LONG DAY'S JOURNEY INTO NIGHT, and while I am deeply anxious to introduce my girlfriend to the wonders and power of Eugene O'Neill, I think four and a half hours could be better spent grilling ribs and having sex. Not at the same time. Yet.

Allow me to mention that NPR's Wait Wait...don't tell me! records on Thursday nights at the Chase Auditorium in Chicago. Tickets are $20 and are available for 5 Oct.

Hmm... the show amuses me, but I'm not sure enough so to sit in on a whole recording. I've only done that for Garrison Keillor. But still, thanks for the heads-up! I wonder if Bloo's a fan?

Yes, the broadway production of the Pillowman was the single greatest thing I've ever seen on the stage. Folger's Romeo and Juliet a couple years ago at the Folger is a close second. Plus, how could you go to Chicago and not go see a show at Steppenwolf???
