... words cannot express how surprised I am at how much I simply adore MARVEL ZOMBIES VS. ARMY OF DARKNESS. I had thought that without the great Robert Kirkman's writing, MZ VS. AoD might be a lame spin-off cash-in on the original, which was more fun than a barrel of dead Kryptos.

Having read the sneak preview of issue #2, which comes out next week, I am so glad to say that I think this is even better than the first. Or at least, it's right up there, just in terms of sheer cracktacular holy-crap-I-can't-believe-that-person-is-eating-that-person goodness.

There is so much I want to geek out about here with someone, but I don't want to spoil any of the wonderful surprises here. All I'm gonna say outright is that I cannot *wait* to see what'll happen when the single page with the Blob and the Runaways hits scans_daily. I'd post it myself, but I don't know if I'm strictly allowed to post comic scans before the issue actually comes out.

The writer hinted at something involving Nextwave and zombie Power Pack coming up. Along with the awesome team-up of Frank and Ash, capped off by zombie Howard the Duck, I think this series is going to be a classic we'll treasure for years and years to come.



Meantime, I'm going to keep picking at my Geek Obsession Of The Week, writing and possibly drawing (I call it a "Doodle Drabble," sorta like and inspired by heykidzcomix's wonderful Pointy Dog Theatre) the most brain-breakingly wrong and awesome OTP ever. If these characters ever do date, it'd put Guy Gardner and Ice to SHAME.

... holy GOD, what the hell's happened to me? A few years on LJ, immersed by fandom, fanfic/slashfic writers, and scans_daily, and I'm slowly turning into a fourteen-year-old girl. I'm regressing more and more into a Joss Whedon character by the day!

If I ever start calling my keyboard "Mister Clacky," somebody please put me out of my misery. Or give me my own TV show.



Seriously, though, this pairing is so wrong, it's right. But the only way to show it to you is to write/draw it out.
