Since more and more people have been inquiring about THE HEFNER MONOLOGUES, I spent a few hours last night in that very special hell that is designing a MySpace page. Thanks to the picky, curmudgeonly guidance of holli, I now have an official page that doesn't look like total ass anymore. Yay!

Bit by bit, I shall work to add to it. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Also, anyone know how to upload a movie on DVD to YouTube? pondering_duck made a great film of me entitled BETWEEN DEATH AND A TEDDY BEAR: THE JOHN HEFNER STORY, which would serve as a brilliant introduction to Heffie in the "About Me" section. I have the ten minute movie on DVD, but neither he nor I quite know how to get it online.

The Tammy script, meanwhile, is proving incredibly bothersome. Yesterday at work, I was feeling that kind of screaming fearsome frustrating writer's block that I haven't felt since my college days. Trying to get a story the, in full form, took over 150 pages into an hour-long show? Not fun, man. But I'm gonna keep trying.

At least the other script, by the two accounts of those who've read it, is bangin' and awesome, so I have that.

For the Tammy piece: do you have anyone around you that you could just fire the story out at orally (no script, nothing written)? Maybe that could help with the timing. You could have them stop you at the hour mark and see how much you've been able to include. The guinea pig could also help with feedback as to perfomatively what's the most effective and maybe give you some great suggestions. Then again. maybe this entire suggestion stems from a desire to catch one of your shows! ;)

Aye, I have my director, my producer, and my director from FAUSTUS has also been helping out. Any or all of them I could try that with, but I dunno how comfortable I could be doing that. I work much better when I really think about where I'm going intellectually, and build upon it orally from there (unlike Spalding Gray and others who seem to work more orally inward). But perhaps you're right, and I should just dive in headfirst to see what floats up... to totally mix metaphors there.
