The trailer can be seen here, but be warned: the site is fucking SLOW, and I haven't even watched it yet:

If that still is too huge and slow, here's a youtube version, which I imagine will be yanked within a couple hours:

I didn't really want to jump in the "he looks like THE CROW" bandwagon, but... is anyone else kinda bothered by the fact that he's wearing makeup? That it's not, y'know, his actual skin and hair color?

Nolan's really, really testing me, here. I seriously cannot wait to see where the hell he's going with this.

I believe in Harvey Dent. I believe in Harvey Dent. I believe in Harvey Dent. That's all I'm holding on to at this point.

also, assuming that voice over is the joker, he hasn't escaped jack's performance. You can hear it in "I'm a man of my word" he says it with nicholsonian inflections.

Have you seen this yet?

Is there such a thing as a castingasm?

There surely is. There surely is.

Not that I've ever seen SWEENEY TODD, which I've meant to, as I love Sondheim. Well, okay, I adore SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE and I think GYPSY is great even if it is hard to watch. I haven't really seen any of his other stuff.

I'm just hoping that this marks a return to a Tim Burton we haven't seen since ED WOOD. That was, in my opinion, his last truly great and distinctive film. SLEEPY HOLLOW had lovely touches and BIG FISH was good, but neither could touch EDWARD SCISSORHANDS and BEETLEJUICE.

And while I'm slowly maybe sorta kinda coming around to CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY, Thursday night's concert of The Swell Season--wherein they suddenly and randomly started playing "Pure Imagination" and saying, "It's all yours, Charlie. The whole chocolate factory..."--made me realize that I'll always love the Gene Wilder version more, original Dahl be damned (and I don't say that lightly). That was an incredibly convoluted sentence, I'm sorry.

Hmm, Nolan's thing with making these movies as realistic as possible really intruiged me in the first one (I didn't mind at all that Scarecrow didn't have the whole costume)but I figured it might be an issue with fans when he got around to more iconic villians, like Joker. From the little voice quip, it sounds like Ledger is making him..neurotic, twitchy sounding. Hmm..

Thanks for posting the link..I was off t'web all weekend and I knew it was going to hit late on Friday.
Like the teaser but I agree, Heath is channeling Jack. This may not be a bad thing. I have faith in the genius that is Nolan. Even the make up doesnt bother me as much as I thought it would.
Think about it, he gets scarred a la ICHI bloke and loses his mind. Paints his face and becomes the Joker we all know and Love.

I Hope anyway!
