I officially adore Eric Roberts as Sal Vincent MaMoroni.

These Gotham Cable News segments have been totally fun, although every single one of these actors needs to stop with the Shatner-like dramatic pauses. It breaks the authenticity.

But as for Roberts, he looks like he's totally having a good time, and it's rather infectious. He's the perfect counterpoint to Tom Wilkinson's snarling pit bull Carmine Falcone: a smug, self-assured, charming sleazebag, and god damn if I don't love the Guido accent to boot. Depending on how the film goes, I might just have to rework my Harvey Dent novel version of the character around Robert's performance.

I've gotta say, I hope the trailer is misleading (in the sense of the scene from my icon here). I hope we actually do get Moroni's day in court, if you know what I mean.

It totally is! They announced his involvement wayyyyyyyyy back, like over a year ago, but were keeping totally mum as to who he was playing. Online speculation ran rampant for awhile, several throwing "Riddler" around. Now we know.

In the excitement for HELLBOY II and THE DARK KNIGHT, I had actually forgotten X-FILES was coming out this month.

Fifteen minutes ago, the trailer came on TV, and I swear to god, I did the crazy old prospector/Walter Huston from TREASURE OF SIERRA MADRE dance.

This is a FUCK of a year for geek movies.

Well, you needn't worry about the above-posted video, as it's a clipless stand-alone "interview" featuring characters from the film. A mini-movie in its own right. But I certainly understand if you want to play it super-safe. After all, for my part, that damn Two-Face image is floating around out there...

I havent been able to watch the Gotham Tonight spots online as they keep getting taken down very quickly, so I kinda hope they end up on the DVD.
As for Eric Roberts - the guy is class. I remember back when they tried a Doctor Who TV movie to break the states, they cast him as the Master. My fanboyness recoiled at the thought. An American Master?? They could have at least got a decent actor. I was prepared for the worst.
How wrong I was. He seemed to thoroughly enjoy the role and added a nasty, vindictive streak to the character that was totally spot on.
Shame the actual TVM is awful (bad script, The Doc apparently half human and all tied into the millenium - watch once and avoid)

As for Harv. A mate of mine emailed me yesterday to warn me that pics of him were all over the net. I thanked him for the warning.
