Will Ferrell in TWO FACE.
Jul. 17th, 2008 12:31 amY'know, I don't actively dislike Will Ferrell like many do. I don't get the appeal of ANCHORMAN beyond a mild amusement with the occasional spatters of brilliance (the street fight and Afternoon Delight), but I do think much of his SNL work coupled with STRANGER THAN FICTION has earned him a lot of mileage in my book.
Also, in what might seem a random tangent, I'm rather fond of the work of Vince Gilligan. The dude wrote the funniest (and therefore, some of the greatest) X-FILES episodes ever, plus is the guy behind BREAKING BAD, which has been six episodes of utter greatness before the writer's strike put it on hiatus.
And yet, when I read this story from aintitcool.com today:
Before Will Ferrell plays John Watson in Judd Apatow's untitled Sherlock Holmes comedy, he hopes to star in “Two Face,” written by Vince Gilligan (“The X-Files,” “Breaking Bad,” “Hancock”).
Variety offers the logline:
Ferrell is attached to play the title character, a racist who, after a prank gone awry, develops a split personality.
I guessed one of the personalities is still racist, while the other is really, really racist -- but the Hollywood Reporter reports the new personality is a bleeding-heart liberal.
... I just...
... I've got nothin'.
