Very cool. Not $175 worth of cool, but very cool nonetheless. Wish there were better lighting on the scarring (I'm gross, I know), but so far, it actually looks better than the movie.
Seriously, $175?! I'm probably the most obsessed Two-Face fan out there and I wouldn't buy that for more than $50! Unless, of course, we were talking a custom-made action figure of me in my pinstripe costume. Which reminds me:

A Batman boxed set with repainted figures. The more subtle colors on everyone are very nice, and I'm so glad they went with Brian Bolland's awesome Two-Face sculpt, but UGH WHY THE JIM LEE JOKER?! HIDEOUS!
Still, I think I'll save my money. If
Ultimately, though, when it comes to my action figure budget, perhaps I should just settle for this:

Angst, murder, and deep-seated issues have never been so adorable.

Date: 2008-10-21 01:28 am (UTC)Actually, I just got the Killing Joke Joker figure (w/o hat) as part of the Brian Bolland set, and I must say, it looks even better in person than the photo lets on. The paint job is rather perfect, darker and richer than the photo, and he comes with a small glass of red drink (I like to think cranberry and vodka).
He currently stands beside my Bolland Two-Face on my TV. Harvey aims a gun at me, while the Joker offers a toast. All the Bolland figures are well worth getting, coming from a guy who rarely buys figures anymore.

I buy figures constantly. It's SO HARD NOT TO. I write about action figures for work, so they always pass my desk and I'm usually like "Hey, that looks nice.......How much can I get it for?" And it's usually juuust enough of a rebate to make me spend my paycheque on it.

Date: 2008-10-21 01:39 am (UTC)I figured you'd be more attuned to figures, o Madam Abe and Kroenen. But you write about action figures for work? What magical awesome job do you have? Lord love those jobs that barely enable us to feed our addictions. Sometimes I do miss working at the comic shop...

Date: 2008-10-21 09:32 pm (UTC)And those photos are awesome. I am currently planning to make a Catwoman costume (I DON'T KNOW HOW TO DO THIS) somehow, probably based on The Long Halloween (I feel like I have mentioned this here to you personally so pardon me if I'm repeating myself). I've never made a costume or had one made so this should be a delightful adventure in realizing-things-are-way-harder-than-I-thought. I've gotta have it done for February's NYCC.
And yeah! I write copy about action figures. You know, "Saddle up for adventure with the new Lone Ranger figure!" or, like, "This summer's blockbuster The Dark Knight brought with it AWESOME TOYS!" It's not bad work.
OH. And if you get into the Just for Laughs festival, that will be awesome because I'm totally in Montreal.

Date: 2008-10-21 09:53 pm (UTC)Thanks! If you click the "dressin' up" tag, you'll see it's one of four sets of Joker/Harley costumes. Be warned, the last one is NSF... well, work nor sanity. But pretty hilarious. You were warned, if you're so inclined.
Catwoman costume? Awesomeness! No, you haven't said anything about that!
By why THE LONG HALLOWEEN Catwoman, may I ask? I mean, I'll be honest, I have issues with that series in the first place, but even besides that, all those bracelets simply can't be practical for a cat-burglar! Also, are you freakishly grotesquely ripped like Sale's Selina? If you want my totally unsolicited opinion, I'm more fond of her old green scarf costume or the current Darwyn Cooke one. Even better, I'd love to see your original unique take, ala what I do for Project: Rooftop! But that's just me. No matter what, I want pictures! :)
That is awesome! For what publication/website?
Just For Laughs? Ha, I hadn't even considered that! Maybe sometime, yeah! No, I'm hoping to be up there for the Montreal Fringe Festival in June. If I get in, hopefully you'll be in the area! I'm very much gonna need the support, as I will be a starving artist living out of a minivan on tour!

Date: 2008-10-21 01:42 am (UTC)Well, you know the only way to stop Li'l Two-Face and bring unity to his warring sides: give him chocolate milk!
Aaaaand now I'm thinking...
LI'L TWO-FACE: "I like chocolate milk."
LI'L KILLER CROC: "And I like potatoes!"
