OMGWANT.

I've been wanting this for sixteen years. I seriously thought they'd never release it, figuring too much time has passed and there was too little interest. Holy crap. Holy crap. The villain themes alone... Joker, Pengers, Jervis... and, of course, Harvey. Oh god, Harvey's theme... like a mournful dirge, played slightly off-key.

With iTunes, I haven't bought an actual physical CD for a couple years now, much less paid more than $20 for even a two-disc album. But for this, along with liner notes by Paul Dini, Bruce Timm, and others... it will be mine. Oh yes. It will be mine.

EDIT: Er, on the off-chance that someone was thinking about being awesome and taking this as a hint, don't sweat it, I've already put in the order! But, uh, if you're still so inclined, here's my Amazon.com Wish List!

This close to the holidays, when you spout this loudly, you may get more than one. My friend Stu and I once each gave each other gift receipts to Gary Snyder's Mountains and Rivers Without End when it came out thirty years after it was started. How about anyone reading this may buy themselves a copy as a gift from Heffy?

Egad, I'd better amend this post by saying that I'm already gonna buy it for myself! I mean, anyone wants to buy it for me, I'll happily accept that, hells yeah, but I'll need to know one way or another soon so I can get it before I have to leave here (Seattle) by the 31st of December!

Hell with it, I'm ordering it myself, just to be safe!

Wow... gotta love LaLa Land

That's fantastic. I may have to see if I can squeeze one of those into my budget, too.

LaLa Land has putout a few things over the years that I thought I'd never see. The main one that I have being soundtrack disks for Farscape. (oh wow... one of which, according to their site, is now out of print... and they've added a few more!)

That took way too long. I need this.

I'm hoping they'll be able to ship it here within the next ten or so days so that, by the time I leave Seattle, I'll be able to listen to this on a loop as I head to Vegas. Must have it now. Doom demands it.

It's also volume one, with more to come, according to Dini. I'm not sure what other soundtracks I'd want, honestly.

Well, "Mad as a Hatter" comes to mind, since the only Jervis theme we'd get would be from the very end of "Perchance to Dream" ("You ruined my life! I was willing to give you any life you *wanted*... just to keep you out of mine!!!")

Was it so good? What did you do that was so great? I'm planning to go for a weekend or three weekdays. I'm going for research, mainly to try and find what little scraps of Rat Pack era Vegas still exist, as well as dig around for any unusual points of interest. And of course to blow a hundred bucks on slots and blackjack.

C'mon, girl. Let's meet up and have a positively scandalous weekend together! You know you wanna.

... Oh please tell me you have photographic evidence now.

I just ordered myself a copy. I was going to wait until I had enough in my paypal account (because paying that way is awesome and beats credit cards) but I didn't want to run the risk of them running out. I got impatient and ordered it now. I saw Dini write about it in his blog but as you were the one who posted the link you have my gratitude.

It was so good because it was FREE. I went with my step-father because he had a business trip and it was ALL FREE. PLUS all the booze was free anyway. And we partied and had an awesome time.

FREE

And THEN to make things even better, I ran into my friend randomly when I was there. He was on tour with his band (he's a montrealer too) and he happened to be in Vegas on the last two days of my trip and I ran into them on the street.

WHAT ARE THE CHANCES?! And he's like, a super-good friend of mine, too. I had tried to tell him I would be in Vegas but he had no access to a computer and we just happened to run into each other.

This is the dress that I really liked and now I feel guilty because I declared it was nice and that's really vain of me but I really liked this dress.

ALSO I need help. I don't know where to start with my Catwoman costume and while I have enough money to get stuff, I only have a month and a half.

You unbelievably lucky duck. I'm just trying to plot out the best way to have a not-totally-expensive good time alone. An experience with actual substance, dig? Not just wild and crazy hedonism, and really, how much of that is really fun to have alone?

Loverly dress!

How can I help? When it comes to Catwoman's costume, I'd say there are three essential factors: the bodysuit, the mask, and the boots. And the gloves too, so that's four. Leather is a plus no matter what you do, but that won't be cheap (but it will be fucking hot). Or leather at least being a major part of the outfit.

I'm a huge fan of Darwyn Cooke's costume because of its sheer practicality, coupled with sexiness that's not gratuitous like, say, Jim Balent (unless you zip down the boobs like she is in the Mortal Kombat vs DC game).

Here, feel free to hit me up on e-mail if'n you'd like: curseyourichards at gee male dot com. We can continue to plot there, if you like. Here's fine too.

You're welcome, dude. I just hope that was the best place to get it from! It's not even on amazon, much less iTunes. Expensive, but worth it.

Like, he's a consideration, but I dunno how good it'd look or how practical it'd be:

[livejournal.com profile] little_dinosaur says "Sexe Cite on Ste-Catherine street near the Faubourg has catsuits... right by the Capitaine Quebec comics shop!"

I'm assuming you know what that means.

When they say (1-2 week wait) do they mean from Order to SHIPPING or from shipping to delivery?

And why am I asking you instead of, oh, I don't know, checking?

I DO! And I'll head right there this weekend!

Because it's... uh... fun to plot and scheme costume stuff with somebody you're gonna be sexy partners with at a convention?

Yeah, and good luck at that place! Sam says you might be able to find a mask there too.

Will you be including a tail? That always seemed somewhat impractical, in the same way that capes so often are. But pulled off, there can be a certain style to it, I suppose...

From: [identity profile] bagelofdeath.livejournal.com
The tail is one of those awesome bonuses that I could try if I have the time and ability to build it.

If I do full-on Sale Catwoman for SDCC, I have a tail-rig planned...

The mask is the complicated part...I'm not sure how to find or make one. I REALLY like the Roman-ish Sale mask with the big ol' ears and the striking profile, but...

Date: 2008-12-21 11:39 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] thehefner.livejournal.com
I'll keep the Sale mask in mind. I feel like there's something to be done there, but dash it all if it's not slipping my mind.

Of course, if you're doing the Sale version, man, it would be tempting to bust out my Two-Face again. As labor-intensive as that is. But no, Riddler is probably best. Even if it does mean invoking "When in Rome," mutter mumble grumble gripe...

Date: 2008-12-21 11:41 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] bagelofdeath.livejournal.com
Yeah, I like the Sale mask but it would require lots of building. I can't even sew, man.

And I do like the Two-Face, but I just love your Riddler costume so very, very much. And "When in Rome" is just a little side-story! But the art is pretty (I LIKE IT. WHATEVER) so think of it like that.

Date: 2008-12-21 11:54 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] thehefner.livejournal.com
The Two-Face requires many improvements: a better photographer, more gradation between the healthy and burned tissue, perhaps half a toupee for my good side, and definitely a lot more working out to make the wifebeater work as sexily as it needs to. And really, I just need a Typhoid Mary to make the whole thing swing. Another time!

Besides, I'm turning totally red from your flattery of my Riddler costume (which got totally ignored in Project: Rooftop's costume contest this year, and I still don't know why!), that I'd be a fool not to bust it out for this show with you. We'll be a grand pairing.

(Hey, consider maybe through a bit of green flair in your costume; it's hearken back to her green cape, and it'd also compliment the green/purple/black/silver color scheme of my costume! But no worries if you don't want to, since it's your costume and I know you're gonna look awesome no matter what. If you'll forgive me for saying so, you are honestly one of the few geek girls I know who could pull off a catsuit)

Hey, I like the art too! You won't hear me complain about Sale's art, no worries! Well, sometimes I do think he could stand to be reigned in a bit, but generally, I dig 'im! See icon!
